We’re recruiting for a new, exciting Payroll Specialist opportunity in Solihull, working for a successful UK retail business.

The Role

The Payroll specialist will be responsible for processing all employee payroll for the entire business group, working closely with internal HR teams.

The role will require a real switched-on candidate, able to work accurately, efficiently and at a fast pace. You will be very much a team player, with great drive and organisational skills. Payroll experience and understanding of payroll processes would be the ideal.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Accurate processing of monthly employee payroll – inputting, checking, pensions, BACs, generating payslips, financial reporting
  • First point of contact – for all internal payroll queries
  • Assisting senior team members with any payroll operational duties
  • Managing absence data – working closely with HR
  • Assisting with any year processes associated with payroll
  • Contributing to any process improvements
  • Assisting with any HR / Payroll system updates

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience of running high volume payroll, from start to finish – experience of international payroll would be a bonus
  • CIPP qualification desirable
  • The role will require a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good communicator (written & verbal) and customer focus
  • Excellent problem solver
  • Heavily deadline driven
  • Good arithmetic
  • Initiative
  • Well organised, able to juggle a busy, varied workload
  • Strong IT skills
