We’re recruiting for a National Account Manager with a proven track record in FMCG whilst working with large retailers. This opportunity is working for a reputable Banbury-based manufacturer within the Food industry.

This role is a perfect step up for an Account Manager or an opportunity for an existing JNAM to get more responsibility.

My client’s comapny is a fast-paced & innovative food business that operate in varied on-trend ambient product categories across Savoury and Home Baking. Seeking a switched-on, intelligent individual who can demonstrate success in a sales driven account management role; a background in dealing with the Grocery channel will be beneficial, in order to hit the ground running. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain ownership of top Grocery retailers and Discounters and really develop your account management experience within a progressive, fun FMCG environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Build strong commercial relationships with customers
  • Delivering Excellent Customer Service as Standard with named customers
  • Maintaining P&L of your own accounts to deliver sales and profitability targets
  • Looking for opportunities to grow sales within existing and new accounts whilst achieving company profit targets
  • Educating colleagues on how to win with your customers and meet their strategic agenda
  • Build solid relationships with other internal departments to ensure plans are delivered on time and in full
  • Analyse account performance and make valid recommendations to continually improve performance
  • Development and ownership of the contact and customer strategy

Skills & Experience

  • A commercial background within an FMCG business working with UK retailers
  • Must have a results-focused mentality
  • Have an ambitious career plan with the drive to progress at pace, we want to develop our talent to progress within our business.
  • Highly numerate
  • Effective relationship building skills
  • Passionate with a “Can do” attitude
  • A good understanding of the FMCG marketplace, its key players and projected market dynamics.
  • Good Understanding of how an Account Manager / Buyer relationship functions.
  • Experience of building relationships
  • Strong capability in Excel and financial numeracy with an analytical mind
  • Degree educated (or equivalent) preferred
